Senior Backend Engineer (Virtualization Platform)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Virtualization Platform) to work remotely in Portugal who’s eager to embark on an exciting new opportunity!

What is this challenge about

• Building and maintaining backend integrations with enterprise-grade virtualization platforms.
• Working on mission-critical systems where reliability, performance, and predictability are key.
• Developing backend services based on well-defined APIs and requirements.
• Writing high-quality, well-tested code with a strong focus on long-term stability.
• Participating in strict code reviews and engineering discussions in a mature environment.

What we are looking for

• Senior-level experience in backend engineering (8+ years preferred);
• Strong proficiency in Java or Go;
• Solid experience designing and consuming REST APIs (OpenAPI);
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox, VMware, KVM, oVirt, Xen, or similar);
• Strong focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability;
• Proven unit testing culture and attention to code quality;
• High autonomy and ownership mindset;
• Fluent level of Portuguese and English (mandatory);
• Availability to work remotely in Portugal
• Candidates must be residing already in Portugal.
